Self Review

My spanish work has suffered a lot during the last two weeks. partly due to the amount of work being put into essays and the investigating europe project. But more worryingly due to the amount of socialising in this busy period running up to christmas. i need to get back into the habit of learning the language. hopefully in the next two weeks i can get back on track. i know it will not be a problem in the new year but thats still 4 weeks away so i need to get back into a good studying routine starting today before it just gets put off again

Tuesday
Do more of investigating europe did quite alot today and made good progress the end isnt far.
start communication essay wrote intro and started first paragraph, decent progress but needs reviewed
read more spanish
learn some vocab from website annd review old stuff.

Week Plan 17th November

Monday
Continue typing up investigating europe project. Done this and made a little more progress
learn vocab on spanish website Practised vocab about plants (weird i know)
listen to podcasts (whilst on bus) Done and counted that Ben complimented
Marinas accent a cringeworthy 4 times.
Revise ser & estar Did this before class and a little at home
maths drop in went for a while but left after being angered
by fat chavs

Tuesday
Start history essay. started this yesterday. but done about the same amount of work again only another section and a conclusion and its done.
revise some spanish vocab and grammer.
type up more of investigatin europe. finally finished the history of the louvre!!! started writing about the artwork. after finishing history part it should be smooth sailing.
listen to podcasts (on bus) listened to one, learned nothing am watching spanish
film tonight to try get some more vocab.

Week Beggining 20 October

Monday
as i am writing this late ill write what i did. first half of history essay & read some general spanish. learnt to count properly in spanish. a productive day

Tuesday
Finished history essay and listened and read podcast 5 twice. perfected days months and telling the time. nothing in the podcast stuck :( i am happy that i now know the numbers days ect. finishing the history essay early was good too. took a little card with some vocab in the gym with me and read it during rest times. this was very effective.

Wednesday
Finally started writing up project on the louvre. i now have a cover an introduction and a good start on the history. listened to the 5th and 6th spanish podcasts on the way to the gym.

Thursday
finish the history of the louvre and make a start on the artwork in the louvre. work through the second level in the virtual campus. memorise all new vocab.

Friday
Finish louvre artwork and plan next section of project. listen to 5th 6th and 7th podcasts and memorise the grammer in the booklets.

Saturday
read history essay and make any neccisary amendments. read louvre project and do the same. listen to 6th and 7th podcast again

Sunday
do bbc steps. do all bbc steps again to revise them.

Last week i did alot better at studying. it helps me having a printout of what i need to do so i can refer to it without going online. also setting more specific targets in spanish homework has helped. i think my spanish is still very poor and i need alot more work but setting smaller targets i think will help me achieve better results. i am happy that so far this week i have already finished one essay and have made good progress on another. i hope to be finished all four due in december by next friday so i can really focus on my spanish.

review the last weeks

In the last few weeks i feel my studying in my own time has improved. In the beginning i was easily distracted and found i would go days telling my self i would study in an hours time or it would be fine to do it tomorrow. i feel i did this because i lacked a plan of what to do and was trying to start studying without even knowing what subject i was going to study. i have had a lot of problems doing essays in my own time. i find it hard to start working unless it is totally necessary (due tomorrow). i need to plan what part of the essay I'm going to focus on rather than looking at it as one huge entity. although i am doing alot of work now in my own time which is good i still am not doing what i have written on my targets diary. i need to look at this everyday and write my progress daily i feel if i write the progress once and have achieved what i am set out to do it will encourage me to continue doing what i planned. progress has been good but i still need to stick to my plan then it will become easier especially with regards to essay writing.

Monday
On Monday I did some Spanish revision on my day off, I did not do enough as I had the whole day off and did very little.
Tuesday
Tuesday I did the work sent by Dieca.
Wednesday
I did some Spanish revision I did quite well but I feel I could have done better had I planned out what I was doing. I also had a look at some information on the Louvre.
Thursday
Thursday I went to the library and did some maths revision. I then did some Spanish work on the Internet. I could have used this time better.
Friday
I did a little bit of Spanish, it was not planned out and I pretty much wasted my time
Saturday
I did some Spanish vocabulary work. I didn't spend a lot of time on this but I used the time effectively.
Sunday
I did nothing.

I quite like looking back on what I did (or didn't do) because now I realise I need to use my time more effectivly.

My study plan for the week

My study plan for this week is to try firstly to catch up with what i missed last week, i will have to do this simultaneously with this weeks work. i will do most of my work as soon as i get home from college therefore allowing my self more time. i dont really know how much time i will need to spend each night but i will do as much as i can. I will firstly learn the basic spanish that i missed and that we do this week as i can't be behind on this! Then i will revise and study the other courses. Not really sure what else to say but it will get easier as i get into a routine :)

Day 1: 2 weeks late :(

Today is my first day doing access to languages, I am 2 weeks late because I was doing camp America until Friday. Bad start. We are writing a blog on a movie which i am yet to see (oops) so I am going to write about why I chose this course. Firstly I enjoy studying languages because I believe to be able to communicate in other people's languages is a fantastic ability. secondly because it can lead on to a university education and I believe, after many years of working, that this is an extremely valuable thing. Also this course is for people similar to myself who have now decided to return to education because they are willing to dedicate themselves to a full time course at this stage in their lives which I am hoping will make the class as a whole more determined. So far I know nobodys name as I missed the freshers week and I know nothing about anyone other than what you can see at face value. This I am sure will soon change as time goes on (I hope!).
